Who We Are

Any personal information provided to or gathered by us is controlled by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association ("AOPA UK", "We", "Us") the trading name of the British Light Aviation Centre Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 874355), with a registered office at 50a Cambridge Street, London, SW1V 4QQ. We are a not for profit organisation.

What Information We Collect

When you place an Order or otherwise interact with the AOPA UK Website, we may ask you for certain information and you may submit personal data to Us (for example your name, phone number, postal address, email address, contact and bank / credit card details). We may also record which products you are interested in and which products you purchase as well as customer traffic patterns and site use.

  • Organise and Manage Membership and Membership Services
  • Help prevent fraud (eg. we may check payment card details with our credit agency, who may keep a record of that information, and reserve the right to refuse Orders on that basis. Your credit rating can be checked for a nominal fee with the main UK agencies Equifax and Experian);
  • Open and run your AOPA UK customer account;
  • Administer prize draws;

Data Security

Your safety is guaranteed because AOPA UK uses the latest security measures to protect your details when you shop with us. We use 128-bit SSL Software to encrypt your credit/debit card information when you place an order on our secure server, which means that only we are able to decrypt the information in order to process your transaction.

Who Else May See Your Data

In order to complete your order we may need to disclose some of your information to our delivery partners.

If you order personalised products which are made to order based on information that you provide, then we will need to provide this information (including delivery details) to our manufacturers for the purpose of creating the personalised product to your specification.

Within AOPA UK, other than for membership administration pruposes, we may disclose some of your information to other appointed members within the Association in order to enhance membership services to you, e.g. AOPA Regional Representatives, AOPA Mentors, AOPA MWG Members. You may request that your information is not made available for this purpose by contacting AOPA UK Office by email or telephone.

If you order/book attendance at an AOPA UK Event we may need to disclose some of your details to the Organisers of the event.

Communications - AOPA UK

From time to time, AOPA UK may email its' current or recently expired memberships in order to gather feedback on their membership experience. Any feedback gathered may be used for the development of membership services and expand membership. If you do receive such an email you are not obliged to respond in any way, your feedback will be de-personalised for any further use and you may request that you do not receive any further emails for this purpose.

You may also receive confirmation emails from AOPA UK when you complete on-line forms on aopa.co.uk or after you have contacted the AOPA UK Office.

Communications - 3rd Party

AOPA UK will not pass your information on to third parties unless you give us your consent - either at the time of providing the information to us, or previously if we have already received consent from you.
