John was nominated as AOPA's representative on the CAA's Light Aviation Airports Study Group to review the regulation of light aviation aerodromes. He has also been actively involved in a working group looking at the establishment and effects of Public Safety Zones around aerodromes nominated by the Government.

With a background in aerodrome management, he is available to assist the Association in dealing with the numerous cases where aerodromes are under threat of closure or facing undue operational restrictions.
