COVID-19: Revalidation of Ratings ORS4 1416 & ORS4 1418

This tool is designed to help you determine what you need to do to revalidate your Class rating/s if you are within the second 12 months of validity under:

ORS4 1416 - EASA Licences SEP and TMG Ratings; or

ORS4 1418 - UK National Licences SSEA, SEP, Microlight, SLMG and/or TMG

Note that ORS4 1416 is not applicable to pilots involved in operations subject to the organisation being require to hold a National Air Operators Certificate, Police Air Operators Certificate or required to comply with Part-ORO of EASA Air Operations.

LAPL(A) Holders:ORS4 1416 Does not apply. Under ORS4 1412, if you met the briefing conditions and had your logbook endorsed as stated in Para 3(e) you could use a 32 month "lookback" for LAPL recency until November 2020. ORS4 1416, which runs until 30 April 2021, states that there is no need to introduce any further exemptions for LAPL(A) holders.  Thus after 22 November 2020 the normal 24 month "lookback" will apply.

NOTE: For NPPL(A) The Flight Times in Column A of Table 1 are for the last 24 Months.

You do not currently meet the criteria for revalidation by experience and you will need to take a Proficiency Check with a suitably qualified Flight Examiner unless you can meet any of the criteria below before your rating expiry date:

12 Hours or More: Your total flight time of 12 hours or more must include a minimum of 6 hours PIC and at least 1 Hour Training with an Instructor, with a minimum of 12 Take-offs and Landings within the 12 months preceding expiry.

11 Hours or More - Less than 12: Your total flight time of 11 hours but less than 12 must include a minimum of 6 hours PIC and at least 1 Hour Training with an Instructor, with a minimum of 15 Take-offs and Landings within the 12 months preceding expiry.

10 Hours or More - Less than 11: Your total flight time of 10 hours but less than 11 must include a minimum of 6 hours PIC and at least 1 Hour Training with an Instructor, with a minimum of 16 Take-offs and Landings within the 12 months preceding expiry.

9 Hours or More - Less than 10: Your total flight time of 9 hours but less than 10 must include a minimum of 6 hours PIC and at least 1 Hour Training with an Instructor, with a minimum of 17 Take-offs and Landings within the 12 months preceding expiry.

8 Hours or More - Less than 9: Your total flight time of 8 hours but less than 9 must include a minimum of 6 hours PIC and at least 1 Hour Training with an Instructor, with a minimum of 18 Take-offs and Landings within the 12 months preceding expiry.

NOTE: For NPPL(A) the criteria is for the last 24 Months.

You have met the revalidation requirements and an Instructor with FCL.945 privileges or an applicable Examiner, (FE, CRE or Revalidation Examiner) can endorse the Certificate of Revalidation in the normal manner.

If you took advantage of a validity extension under ORS4 No.1378/1385 (revised to 1414/1412), had a briefing with an FI who has confirmed the extension to 22 November 2020, the new validity expiry date will be 30 November 2022; otherwise the date will be the normal 24 months after the previous expiry date.
