Have you had any problems with 8.33 kHz Radio Communication?
At the recent AOPA Maintenance Working Group meeting it emerged that a number of maintainers have received complaints from owners about their recently installed 8.33 kHz radios. Examples are maximum volume insufficiently high, a general inability to understand what is being said, and interference. Far from the costs of a new radio resulting in a better radio experience the opposite seems to be more the case. It was reported that Trig have managed to remove the problem with a software upgrade.
If you have had any problems with recently installed 8.33 kHz radios or with en-route or Ground stations that have recently converted to 8.33 kHz frequencies please let George Done know, with as much details as possible.
